This isn't the first time this sort of situation has occurred for many artists from all different walks of life and it certainly will not be the last time either. In the past, people stealing from us had to really make a conscious effort to do so that left a huge paper trail to follow. Whether it be tracing or reposting our original art somewhere else without our expressed permission, our fans...our followers...anyone capable of doing a reverse Google image search could find a trail that led back to the culprit time and again. In some cases, the trail was long and arduous, but it always led back to the perpetrator getting ostracized from the community as a social consequence and the original artist being given the accolades that they were owed and the offensive image removed. AI art generators function a bit differently and it seems no AI artist actually cares about the consequences regardless. We don't see them ostracized from the art community by others but actually praised for it
